I am a mother of three children and the four of us attended the X-Men class in Minnesota in June 2008. This 2-day class made some phenomenal changes in my son as well as myself and two daughters. Prior to this class he was mean and didn’t act like other children. Now he is more loving, caring and sharing. He even hugs and kisses us in public. At age 10 he is smiling and playing with other kids for the first time in his life! The changes are amazing. He is so different. These tools really work. What else is possible? Gary is a fabulous facilitator.
Right after a class with Gary Douglas I saw a 2-year old who had always been difficult, I used the information from the class, asked questions and the child was very different. He was receiving more and was very easy to work with for the first time. What a gift.
By seeing Nick for the gift he is, our lives are completely different. Sometimes he talks to me in my head and sometimes he uses words. He sure knows I understand him though. Our connection and level of communication grows stronger every day. And as that communication increases, his level of frustration and outburst have decreased, to the point of being only a few times per week instead of several times per day. How doest it get any better than that? And when he does have an out burst, I am no longer putting up barriers so they just flow right on through and out. What used to be sometimes 45 minutes in length now lasts less than 2 minutes.
Yesterday was the most amazing. When Nick gets home from school, he likes to have a little quiet time and watches Mr. Rogers. After Mr. Rogers a cooking show came on, and I switched it off. Nick got so mad at me, so I turned it back on and thought, “What if he really does like the cooking show and he is absorbing the information?” He loves to watch cooking shows, documentaries and shows with people sharing information. My limited thinking said he couldn’t possibly understand what they were saying and that this would be boring for him. Now I see that none of that is his reality!
Another change that I am seeing in Nick is his being social. He wants to be seen now! While walking at the park, Nick was saying hello and smiling at everybody and, at the store, he was talking to all the clerks. One clerk ignored Nick the first time he said hello, so he moved himself pretty much in her face, waved his hand and very loudly said, “Hello.” No way was he not going to be seen and heard. What else is possible?
Since I added Access tools to my practice, I am seeing changes in my patients that are far greater than with any modality I have ever utilized before. I received such positive feedback from the parents of “x-men”. Their daily struggles begin to change and the kids start functioning with more ease in their life.
I have been thinking about this for days trying to come up with some stories for you. But everything that I come up with seems so dull and boring. I was asking my husband for some ideas and he suggested the very fact that our story was boring was indeed a testimonial in itself. Not really much trauma and drama about the autism – it is what it is. We make choices that give Luke the ability to make choice for himself.
He responds wonderfully to energy work. He loves to have his Bars run. His attitude turns around 180 degrees after a Bars session.
We are aware of his tendency to not participate in this world at times and allow him to be just that. We allow him to do what he wishes with his free time. Some parents have their kids programmed constantly as to keep them from “stimming.” We allow Luke to play and relax how he wishes and do not see it a problem. Because he plays different than other kids, does not make it wrong, just different.
Wow! Just read the news letter all this is amazing. To have this understanding of ADD etc.
To be able to comunicate with them. Thank you for giving me the realization. I do not have anyone close with ADD etc but to this understanding is great. I am very new with Access have my bars run each week learning all the time funny that this new letter covered this because I have thought that you shoud be able to communicate with people with ADD etc as I speak intuitively with a dog who lives next door when he starts to bark continualy I talk ask what is wrong please stop barking and it does with a little whimper and stops.
Felicia Mareels,
I have the unusual circumstance of being an X-men and being the mother of and X-men.
My son and I have Tuberous Sclerosis and our challenges are those created by cysts and tumors in the brain and other organs in the body. Jan is more severely effected however it is clear that we both have difficulty with time, are highly intuitive and have a great ability to focus on skills and to commit and develop our interests into our passionate purpose.
While I have practiced integrative transformational mind/body/spirit work for 20 years Jan is a National Special Needs, silver metal, heavy-weight lifter, lifting 415 lbs while weighing 170.
In 2010 I received a Bars treatment and it transformed a 10 year insomnia problem into a restorative 8 hour sleep pattern. I’ve become a Bars facilitator and integrate it into all of my work. My son Jan receives the Bars regularly and responds very well. He has found that he can organize his thoughts, and have a smoother emotional response to situations that used to challenge him. Paranoia has always been a background noise for Jan and now that he is practicing these statements, “That’s an interesting point of view, ” and “Who does this belong to?” he is developing life skills that allow him to remain clear and most importantly to differentiate his original self experience from those he senses all around him. Jan is fortunate that his family and friends support his ability to sense and work with energies in his Chi gong exercises and to engage with him as a natural energy healer.
Using Access Consciousness tools and The Bars has proven so valuable to get Jan over and through a rough and unexpected patch of paranoia caused by a prescription misunderstanding. It is wonderful seeing Jan become more confident than ever before with easy, portable, tools that create independent self-care and a freedom from overworking his consciousness to understand what the heck is going on in the psyche of an X-men.
Jan is considering learning the Bars himself because he can see how beneficial it could be for many other X-Men. All I can say is I wish that I had known about Access Consciousness many years ago for both myself and my son as he grew up. Jan is now 40 and I cannot help but consider what a different life it could have been and how glad I am to have the use of these tools now. I look forward to the time when the education of these skills for the benefit of X-men their families, loved ones and care-providers will be easily found and practiced by many.
I welcome contact by anyone with an X-men in their lives who would like talk about Access Consciousness and the Bars.
